13 Amazing Dietitian Approved Plant-Based Chickpea Recipes: Chickpea Patties, Chickpea Blondies, and More

Many people think of chickpeas as a healthy, high fiber side dish but have you ever considered making them into a main course, such as Chickpea Patties or Chickpea Curry?  How about using them in a dessert dish like a Blondie or Cookie Dough Dip?

After getting quite a few recent requests for healthy chickpea recipes, I decided to share some of my favorite chickpea recipe options.

Why are chickpeas a healthy food?

Chickpeas are a fantastic source of protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals.  They are also low in calories and fat and incredibly versatile and easy to use.

Chickpeas can help to regulate blood sugar levels, reduce cholesterol levels, promote gut health, aid in weight loss or weight maintenance, and reduce the risk of chronic disease.
